Neon Arena Services have three wooden floors, Netball, Basketball, and Badminton which were originally owned by Sport England for the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002. Neon took over the floors in 2013.
Also we can provide an Indoor Hockey Floor playing surface which uses an interlocking system on each floor tile, and Mondo sprint lanes suitable for Athletics.
- The Netball Floor is 37.08m x 21.60m with markings, nets, posts and under floor steel plates.
- The Basketball Floor is 33.47m x 19.80m with no markings.
- The Badminton Floor is 17.10m x 10.30m with no makings and painted red.
- The Hockey Floor is 44m x 22m with no markings (change of coloured tiles shows length and width of playing surface).
The floor is 22mm tongue and grooved solid Beech Junckers flooring with a 10mm foam underlay. The floors can be fitted as a standard floor or a be-spoke floor, using part of the floor or joining all the floors together for a larger playing area. For wheelchair basketball we enlarge the run off area and fit ramps for access. We have built the floors all over the UK for major sporting bodies like England Netball Association, England Table Tennis Association, Badminton England, Paralympics World Cup and British Basketball League. We also build small exhibition courts for clients such as the NBA.
Our service includes, design of the floor size, survey of site for risk assessment and method statement, delivery to site, forklift and crew to unload and crew to lay and lift the floor. We maintain and clean the floors after every use and once a year they are laid for a week and fully maintained at the Barclaycard Arena. When not in use the floors are stored at the Barclaycard Arena in a climate controlled storage area.
